HP engineers designed the ProLiant BL460c G8 for a variety of applications, including virtualization, consolidation, web infrastructures, collaborative applications, streaming media, networking, security and systems management, among many others.

Powered by a single Intel Xeon processor, the HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8 scales to 512 gigabytes (GB) of main memory via 16 DIMMs. With two 1 terabyte (TB) hot-pluggable SAS or SATA drives, the HP BL460c G8 supports up to 2 TB of internal disk storage. For flexibility, the ProLiant BL460c G8 is compatible with the Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise, Oracle Solaris, VMware and Citrix XenServer operating environments.

The HP ProLiant BL460c Gen8 is compatible with the HP BladeSystem c3000 and c7000 enclosure.
