The IBM 560Q server, known officially as the IBM p5 560Q, is a highly scalable datacenter solution geared toward organizations with midrange computing needs. Available in standard and express models, the IBM 560Q is backed by IBM POWER5+ processors. The IBM 560Q server's building-block design allows for easy expandability, so you can purchase only the power you need today while adding onto your system as your needs grow down the line.
The IBM 560Q standard model comes equipped with four POWER5+ processors in two building blocks, up to 128 gigabytes of main memory, 288 megabytes of Level 3 cache, and up to 12 hot-pluggable PCI-x slots. The 560Q standard configuration can handle up to 3.6 terabytes of internal disk storage or 32.4 terabytes with optional disk drawers.
The IBM 560Q express model is powered by one or two processors and supports up to 64 gigabytes of main memory, 72 megabytes of Level 3 cache, and six hot-pluggable PCI-x slots. The IBM 560Q Express supports up to 1.8 terabytes of internal disk storage or 16.2 terabytes when using optional disk drawers. Both IBM 560Q models support the IBM AIX, SUSE Linux, and Red Hat Linux operating systems.
