The IBM Flex System x240 Compute Node Server is a powerhouse system that delivers unparrelled performance, memory and flexibility geared toward virtualization applications. Part of the IBM PureFlex System, the IBM x240 Compute Node is optimizedf for databasing, collaborations, email, streaming media, high-performance computing, cloud applications and Microsoft RemoteFX.

Equipped with one or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 processors, the IBM x240 Compute Node supports up to two dozen DIMMs, two 2.5-inch SAS, SATA or SSD drives and two PCI-Express (PCIe) 3.0 adapters. When configured with 24 LRDIMMs, the IBM x240 Node scales to 768 GB of main memory.
