Dell R610 Server - PowerEdge Servers
The Dell R610 (Dell PowerEdge R610) Server is a 1U system that's optimized for virtualization environments. The two-socket Dell R610 Server, powered by quad-core or six-core Intel Xeon processors, scales to 192 gigabytes of main memory via a dozen DIMMs and 3 terabytes of internal disk storage. With the Dell OpenManage suite, Lifecycle Controller and Dell Management Console, the Dell R610 Server is simple to manage and deploy.
James Pearce, a contributor for TechHead.co.uk, called the Dell R610 a “high quality, well built and well thought out system” whose power consumption, 193W when idle, seems good for a server capabable of running so many VMs.” Dave Mitchell of IT PRO said: “Dell's latest PowerEdge R610 – featuring Intel's new 'Nehalem Xeon 5500 – sets new standards for rack server design.” He concluded that the R610 offers “remarkable” features, “very low power consumption” and “excellent value.”
