The Dell R710 (Dell PowerEdge R710) Server is a 2U rack system that's especially optimized for virtualization and databasing. The two-socket Dell R710 Server, backed by six-core or quad-core Intel Xeon 5500/5600 processors, scales to 192 gigabytes of main memory via 18 DIMMs and 12 terabytes of internal disk storage. The Dell PowerEdge R710 Server features a highly energy-efficient design that will save your datacenter costs in the long-run. With the Dell Management Console and Dell Unified Server Configurator, the Dell R710 is simple to deploy and manage.
In its review, IT PRO said the R710 “has a sharp focus on reduced power consumption, delivers Dell's brand new centralized system management tools and, of course, has the Lifecycle Controller, which makes the eleventh generation PowerEdge servers quite unique.” Simon Seagrave of TeachHead.co.uk said he was “pleasantly impressed with the build quality and obvious thought that has gone into the design and construction of this server.” He added that it's one of the quietest servers he's used.
