The Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000 server offers powerful computing performance usually reserved for much larger systems or clusters. At the CPU board level, the Sun M8000 holds up to sixteen 2.28GHz or 2.4GHz SPARC64 VI dual core processors with SPARC V9 architecture. The M8000 is also a RAM powerhouse, featuring as many as four CPU memory boards with the ability to hold up to 128GB of RAM per board and as much as 512GB of total system memory. As with all Sun servers, the M8000 is extremely reliable for all types of usage as is the Solaris 10 operating system.
